📍 What's Happening at Central Library Wednesday
The fair is a joint effort of the state's American Job Center network and Memphis Public Libraries, whose JobLINC career team posted the details on the library's event page. The name tells you who organizers especially want in the room: veterans, job seekers with disabilities and the wider Memphis community. Nothing in the listing limits who can walk in, so if you're between jobs, coming back to work or just looking for something better, this one is for you too.
The library hasn't published job titles, headcounts or pay for individual employers, so treat the fair as a chance to meet hiring teams face to face rather than a guaranteed offer. The employer mix is wide on purpose. Kroger runs stores across Shelby County. H&R Block typically staffs up ahead of tax season. Jabil is a manufacturer. TES Janitorial points to commercial cleaning work, and the rest of the 20-plus employers had not been named publicly as of Monday.
✅ What to Bring and How to Prep
The organizers spelled out four things, and it's worth taking all four seriously:
- Two forms of identification.
- Copies of your resume. One per employer you want to meet, plus spares.
- Professional dress. Clean and pressed beats fancy.
- A Jobs4TN account, set up before you arrive. Create it at Jobs4TN.gov, the state's job-matching system that the American Job Center runs on.
If you're a veteran, bring a copy of your DD-214 if you have one handy, since the American Job Center gives veterans priority of service. If you need an accommodation to attend, contact Memphis Public Libraries ahead of Wednesday rather than at the door.
